M.A. Mass Communication (50 Seats)
The graduates of M.A. Mass Communication are expected to be media professionals with strong conceptual and technical skills who are ready to choose a diversity of career options in radio, photography, film, video & TV Production. The two-year intensive course imparts learning in technical and conceptual skills through both hands-on production work and theoretical academic work. The graduates of MCRC have over the years distinguished themselves in a diversity of media related careers. They are contributing energetically to various media institutions and industries as producers, directors, reporters, editors, camerapersons, writers, independent film-makers, teachers, scholars, designers, media practitioners and installation artists. The course requires students to clear final examination in two parts held at the end of each academic year. The examination consist of written papers, media production, internal assessment (including professional performance) and viva voce.

Eligibility
Candidates who have taken their first degree in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering or Medicine, Commerce etc. are eligible to apply, provided they have secured 50 percent or more marks in aggregate in their first degree examination of a Course which is of three or more years duration after the 10+2 Examination. Age limit for admission is a maximum of 30 years on August 1, 2006. The students have to submit along with the application form a Statement of Purpose which should also briefly encapsulates all the extra curricular activities they have been involved with. The students are not to submit a Portfolio at this stage, but are expected to carry a Portfolio in case of selection to the interview stage.
