One thing that should never be compromised in the newsroom is credibility.
Credibility refers to how true, unbiased, and accurate a news is. It promotes public trust in the news and media houses. Verified information helps prevent rumours and supports public welfare by quashing misinformation and disinformation. Ethics in journalism must never be ignored as they form the true essence of journalism. When credibility is ignored, media houses fall and so does the public faith in journalism which is extremely harmful for everyone.
Journalism is the fourth estate on which democracy stands, and if this pillar falls, democracy falls.
