In the “Introduction to Journalism” class, a newspaper activity was assigned on September 28, which involved analyzing different newspapers to identify the 5Ws (Who, What, When, Where, Why) and 1H (How). The task also required noting the attributions used and counting the total number of ads, both government and private. Newspaper A had 14 ads, Newspaper B had 11 ads, and Newspaper C featured 17 ads. The assignment was submitted on September 30. This exercise provided a deeper understanding of how journalists structure news stories, maintain credibility through attributions, and distinguish between facts and opinions. Additionally, it shed light on how advertisements significantly influence the layout and revenue of print media, making them an essential component of modern newspaper.
