It has been a rollercoaster ride for me ever since I entered my college. Pursuing journalism is a dream come true for me. It is a highly professional course that requires utmost carefulness and precision. We learnt about different papers in the course of these 8 months out of which two papers were of extreme importance as they laid the foundation of our course.

These two papers were Introduction to Journalism (IOJ) and Reporting and Editing for Print (REP). In both of these papers, we started from the very basic and slowly and steadily built upon these. Both of these papers helped us in clearing our doubts about journalism that were there in our minds in the beginning of our session.

In IOJ, we learnt about different topics like hard news and soft news, headlines, credit lines, yellow journalism, brevity and many more. Similarly, in REP, we studied editing skills, newsroom, paid news, fake news, trial by media, and also different types of beats.

These two papers gave an immersive experience to all of us which enabled us to look at journalism from a different perspective altogether. Apart from this, the classroom environment and the highly skilled professors made everything easy for us. I’m very excited and looking forward to the upcoming years of college as with time I’ll be learning various new things related to Journalism which will help me in designing my career in the field of journalism and mass communication.
