“Life is an endless journey of learning, where each step we take becomes a valuable lesson that propels us towards greater heights and personal growth.”
Over the past eight months, I have undergone a profound transformation in my perception of the world. Previously, my understanding of journalism was limited to television broadcasting. However, this period has provided me with a much broader perspective, shedding light on the often overlooked aspects of this field that are overshadowed by mainstream media.
Through papers like Reporting and Editing for Print, and Introduction to Journalism, I have found the perfect balance between theory and practice. These papers not only teaches us about how things operate in the real world but also lay the foundation upon which the entire spectrum of journalism is built.
One of the most significant lessons I have learned is the 5W’s and 1H of human nature: who a journalist truly is, why maintaining ethics is of utmost importance not only for journalists but also for individuals, what it means to be ethical, when to exercise neutrality, and how to present information accurately and in a balanced manner.
Moreover, these papers have instilled in me the importance of continuous learning and applying the knowledge I have acquired. They have taught me the art of establishing trust with audiences and how to discern reliable information from the plethora of content available today.
As I move forward in my journey, I am committed to upholding the principles I have learned, striving to serve others while staying true to the values of integrity and accuracy.
I now understand the significance of building a strong foundation in journalism, and I am eager to move forward on this path with a newfound sense of purpose and dedication.
