Assignment- Reporting and Editing for Print
Name – Rivka Vasudeva
Roll number- 22/0225

As I reflect on my academic year as a journalism student, I am filled with a mix of excitement as well as apprehension as the year comes to an end. My journey began with introductory classes that laid the foundation of journalistic principles and ethics.

As the year progressed, I found myself increasingly immersed in practical assignments. Making a newsletter was one of my most memorable assignments. My teammates and I were asked to prepare a newsletter on the topic, “cinema through the ages”. It was an amazing experience that taught us patience and teamwork. Additionally, we have had constructive discussions on a number of topics.
We covered a wide range of topics that helped us understand the concepts and increased our awareness of them, including yellow journalism, the penny and tabloid press, newsrooms, language of news, and editing principles. The opportunity to hear lectures from visitors as well as alumni with fresh viewpoints was a wonderful experience.

My time studying this course has been a transformative experience. I have learned the importance of maintaining integrity, objectivity, and accuracy in all aspects of my work. I am grateful for the guidance and knowledge imparted by the faculty. I am eager to learn more in my upcoming years as a student of journalism and apply these learning in my future endeavours.
