I am very fortunate and proud to be studying in a reputed Institute like LSR. As a student of Journalism, IOJ and REP were two of my core paper for 1st and 2nd semester. When i came here at first, i didn’t have any idea about journalism. My 1st semester was theory based. I learned what is journalism, how to write news stories, how should be headlines, soft news, hard news, byline and creditline, what is the name of different parts of news stories. I learned about yellow journalism. In the practical exercise, we’ve made a news letter. Overall, my 1st semester was all about the introduction of journalism and i got the basic idea about journalisming.

In the 2nd semester, REP was one of my core paper. In this paper i learned how to make report and edit the news stories. As practical components, we took interviews, edited it and published it, we made news paper in the class, we presented about film and documetaries, colour effects and some movies about journalisming. I wrote article about “Rickshaw in Delhi” and made a short video in the LSR librabry. For the theory part i’ve learned about the quality of reporter, how news agency works, what is fake news and sensationalism news, speechs and news stories, nutrality and bias of news.

Overall, the syllabus pattern was like starting from a small things and going deeper of the topics day by day. The lecture of these paper, Dr. Vartika Nanda, she has made everything easy and understandable for us. I like her teaching skills. At the end of every semester she asks us to make a note and include every topics from the syllabus in that notebook as our internal assesmemt. This things help us a lot before the exam nights. That notebook plays a very significant role for our final exam.
