“The supernatural power that can make strange or impossible things happen.” This is what Google has to say when we type in the word “Magic”. And well, this is exactly what LSR has always seemed to be like on the internet. From gifting us with nobel laureate to civil servants, from giving women an identity of their own, to giving them the power to conquer the world, this place has done it all. Having heard and then going on to dream of coming to this place, I have always heard about the “Magic” that this place holds. While I always wondered what it could be, my questions were answered only when I stepped in here.
To say that the magic only lied in its scenic beauty or its esteemed faculty would not be enough. Be it the huge lush green gardens all around that makes you feel closer to the environment, or the iconic red buildings that are beyond beautiful, or the cute four legged friends that could be spotted all around the campus including the auditorium, it all made the place look like heaven before my eyes. Not to mention, the qualified and helpful faculty makes this place even more accessible and lively. But the main essence of magic lied in the thoughts and aspirations that I could see in my fellow batchmates and seniors, something that one does not always end up finding everywhere.
The true magic of LSR is hidden in the fact that this place turns girls into women. The shy, confused and anxious girls who enter this place leave as confident and independent women who are ready to take on the world. In an era where competition and jealousy has reached its peak, it’s indeed a beautiful sight to witness women supporting women, and having their back in both their best and worst times. The magic is honestly something which cannot really be explained in words, it’s a feeling which can only be felt; by only a few lucky people who make it to this esteemed institution. And I feel truly blessed to be one of these few people.
If I have to be honest, this place was not my very first choice and even had a few doubts before coming here considering the fact that its an all girls institution. But as they say, “Whatever happens, happens for our own good”, and I saw these words turning into reality in my case. I feel beyond elated to be a part of the LSR family now, to witness the best show of women empowerment, and to learn something from each one of them; be it my batchmates, faculties, or even the non-teaching staffs. It’s just been a week of experiencing this magic and I have been loving it. Really looking forward to see the magic unfold in the upcoming three years that I will be spending in this second home of mine!
