Newspaper- the oldest and most traditional form of media. Right from helping me to identify letters and reading them out to providing me with the latest news updates which helped me during my competitive examination preparation, newspapers have always played an integral part in my life. While people are now switching to online journalism as it is much more portable and is able to provide a huge variety of news, the fact that newspapers’ publishers are authentic and have a substantial amount in their hands to scrutinize the news story makes it quite reliable.
However, with so many advertisements filling up the pages, it has become difficult to read newspapers now. While it’s understood that they too need money to continue serving us with news, and this need is fulfilled via paid advertisements, difficulty in scanning news has led to people shift to other media forms- internet journalism being the most common one. Newspapers have helped me, and millions of other people become aware of events happening around the world. But going on with the trend, I have started shifting a bit towards the internet too due to its easy wide range of topics and accessibility, especially since I have now shifted to a completely new place for pursuing my higher studies.
