Newspaper forms an integral part of my everyday routine, along with a cup of tea and rusks. The first page always starts with some big and flashy product marketing, sale announcements etc, As you turnover the page comes the real news but again obstructed with advertising boxes. Thus when we read a newspaper to gain knowledge on current events, we at the same time are unknowingly embarking our minds with specific brands which are displayed in the paper and perhaps this is how newspapers sell our time and attention to brand outlets to earn that additional profit. However, I try to mindfully skip those and completely stick to the news at hand. Mainly news of national interest and developments are highlighted whereas local news is fewer in comparison but then again it’s what the audience wants, thus to blame really here is neither the media outlets or publishing houses nor the audience as these both are mutual sides of a coin. The audience watching whatever the newspaper feeds them and the newspapers publishing whatever might appeal to a greater audience, Thus an inconclusive loop of the media world.
