RADIO IN MY EVERYDAY LIFE!
Do we even have the role of Radios everyday today? Once a very interesting and widely famous invention had now become obsolete. With television and Internet replacing Radios, they are seen less in households. In cars they might still be used often but again, we have Bluetooth now!
Talking about how radio came into my everyday life, the story is interesting, initially I saw it with my maternal grandfather’s house. He has an ardent love for old songs, songs of their time, and so he has the Radio plugged in with full volume almost the whole day. It is from here I was introduced to the Radio and later, which is two years back, in December of 2021. I got a magnificent chance to work in the Radio.
Now this was the one month of my life when literally Radio was indeed a part of my everyday life. I worked in the ‘Prasar Bharati Aakashwani Radio Station’ in the ‘Yuvavni Series’ (voice if the youth) for a month. Performing a show per week, I had to write on the topics assigned to me and record them for a seven minute speech. The procedure of recording is so professional and it felt so surreal to me to work in that studio and with all the other experience and talented people, the ones in the music room singing so melodiously, the others in the dubbing studio enacting different voices so precisely you can’t even believe it’s just one person mimicking all the voices while seeing it happening with your own eyes. There is also a team working with the technicalities and helping so gently inexperienced and nervous kids like me, they stay behind the glass and help you utter out every word perfectly so that it be heard clearly and impactfully to the listeners.
This was very worthy of an experience in my life and I would love to get back to it if ever I get an opportunity to.
