In journalism, the term ‘balance’ refers to a journalist’s impartiality and fairness when presenting a story.Balance in journalism means that all perspectives are included and all perspectives receive an uniform amount of attention and then leaves it to the readers to make up their minds. It plays a pivotal role in elevating transparency in the system. Writing a balanced report depends on the media being independent which writes news unbiasedly and upholds the trust of people in the media. If media do not hold a balance while reporting then only the side of one coin will be reflected which will definitely lose people’s faith in the media. In order to achieve balance in journalism, journalists should ensure that both sides of the story are covered, even some stories consist of more than one side, so they should never publish the news based on one person’s vision.
