A reporter is a journalist who goes out & gets the scoop on the news and informs the masses. The reporter acts as a bridge between the society & organization. A reporter’s responsibility pertains to three levels, towards the news organization, towards the sources and towards readers & society. A reporter has to follow the character, style and policy of their newspaper or magazine. Whatever a reporter does will affect the newspaper & and its reputation. So he/she must take the pain to ensure objectivity & accuracy in their stories. Sources are sacred. A reporter’s credibility in their eyes could be a major factor in their performance. A reporter must assure the sources that nobody will come to harm them. A reporter, in order to maintain credibility with the reader, they must not accept things or favours or pursue any activity that compromises their integrity.
Thus, in order to become a good reporter, one must duly fulfill all these responsibilities.
