We kickstarted the week by reviewing previous topics which we discussed in the last week. They are roles and responsibilities of a reporter, and what is an Interview. Then we discussed Pre Interview , Interview and post interview- what are steps taken in each of this round. Later , we looked into Press conferences , its features and types of press conferences such as political press conferences, event press conferences , book release press conferences, product announcements press conferences and many more. We were also taught about what are the procedures we should follow during and after a press conference which includes highlighting and summarizing the whole press conference, heading , compiling and looking after the word limits and ethics.
Now comes News agency which is known as news wire, wire service and news service. We deliberated on its different forms, responsibilities, characteristics and many more. We also analyzed prominent news agencies which work on a national and international level, they are PTI , UNI and REUTERS, AP respectively.
We concluded the week by learning and throwing light into some basic topics of our course which proves as a vital component in journalism such as neutrality, biasness,gatekeeping and structure of news , inverted pyramid style which is known as the traditional principle of news writing focusing on 5Ws and 1H.
Throughout the week we were also assigned write up on the topics we discussed such as news wire , short note on neutrality. Also we were advised to collect news clipping focusing on press conference, biasness.
