The week started off with learnings about media interviews and the role they play in the process of sourcing and disseminating information,formulated into journalistic formats and we discussed about its features structures and three stages it courses through. The next day the DOJ held the Viksit Bharat quiz, which turned out to be a very informative yet extremely fun way to learn about the government intiatives and programmes to cultivate development and sustainability within the nation. And on Wednesday the class discussed about news agencies and their importance in the field of press management in information development and dissemination, looking into various news agencies like PTI, UNI, Reuters and Associated Press etc…. Thurday was the day we learned about subtle but important distinctions between lectures and speeches and the ways in which both are conducted and prioritised in writing news stories. And finally on Friday, we discussed about neutrality and bias in formulating news stories and press dialogues and the ways in which gatekeeking in media shapes and conveys news to the mass. This week as a part of the REP syllabus, we covered various topics and discussed on various ongoing matters and aspects through which news is edited and reported in press.
