Under the provisions of RTI Act, any citizen of India may request information from a “public authority” which is required to reply expeditiously or within thirty days.

RTI uses through its clauses:-

Section 3 (Right to information) is used for empowering the citizens and combating corruption .

Section 4 “Obligations of Public Authorities” – is used to Mandates public authorities to maintain records and proactively disclose certain information, holding officials accountable which helps in Research work

Section 7 ( Public Information Officers (PIOs) must respond to requests within 30 days.) , help citizens in timely access of the information .
So, RTI has been instrumental in exposing scams, ensuring timely delivery of services, and enhancing public participation in governance.
