As a child who loved to talk, to the point where elders used to ask me if I had an ‘off’ button, being a radio jockey was my dream. Listening to the signature ‘Good morning, Mumbai’ every morning on my way to school captivated me.

With radio comes its inherent unpredictability, where you don’t know what’s going to come next. The dynamicity of radio, whether it is traffic updates, festival information or the trending songs, it keeps you guessing and entertained.
Radio shows are engaging for a diverse group of people for a variety of reasons, songs for children, news for working class adults, recent updates of traffic for people on their way to work, entertainment while doing mundane household tasks, or keeping you company at 2 a.m.

While the role of radio has evolved over the years and it is no longer the case where every person of the colony is huddled near the radio to listen to the cricket commentary of the 1983 world cup match, it has still retained a special place for itself.
