“Always sooooo focused on your laptop and phones, Jo dekhna hai TV mein dekh lo”
She does have a point..
But is television still relevant in this era of streaming?
Take a moment to ponder, being consumed all in one’s own life rather it be school, college, job or any other matter; how often do you have the time to sit down to fully immerse in a moment with your family?
When I think of television, I remember evenings with my family, gathered around the flickering screen, the laughter of my siblings, the way we all paused during breaking news and the way we all hid our faces to hide our tears when gazing at an emotional scene to hide our sensitivity. For many, television is nostalgia wrapped in pixels, a storyteller that shaped our worldview long before the internet became dominant.
Perhaps TV’s real value lies in not as a relic, but as a space where stories unfold, and people, families, friends, even strangers come together.
