For a journalist, libraries are their lifeblood. Their vast pool of trusted resources helps journalists find original voices, confirm facts and explore specialized topics. Although the web is an invaluable resource, it unfortunately also lends itself to disinformation and misinformation. Libraries, on the other hand, are trusted guardians of true information hosting very selective and purposedly collected set of information which is a useful tool for backing up as an information sources for news publications. Libraries and archives with particular expertise in specific subjects can act as specialty stores for journalists, who visit to browse through what really only those institutions can offer and delve more deeply into some of the sub-topics.
Journalists can use library research to improve reporting and discover hidden angles for stories. News and library work are equally important efforts to create robust, knowledgeable communities.
