Apna Akhbar
Through the activity of making our own newspaper I learned a lot of new things. It was the first time that I read newspapers with so much concentration and depth which brushed up my observation skills and made me much more aware. I realised that every column in a newspaper holds different emotions and caters to a different audience and every consumer reads the newspaper for a different purpose and from a different perspective . Finding the sports news was the easiest task but along with it my job was to search for positive human interest stories which on the contrary was very difficult. After searching 10 newspapers I could barely find 5-6 human interest stories that were worthwhile for the assignment. Which made me ponder how negative today’s newspapers and media have become and we as consumers prefer to be pessimistic than optimistic. The most beautiful learning of the project was teamwork! Brainstorming on ideas together, finding new perspectives and becoming as creative as possible and the joy of the finished product was unmatched.
