In today’s IOJ class, we were given the task of reviewing books related to our subject in either pairs or groups and to make notes based on chapters that seemed relevant and interesting. Me and my friend Nausheen reviewed the book “Citizen Journalism: Global Perspectives” by Stuart Allan & Einar Thorsen. The book revolved around citizen journalism and it’s history, prevailance, elements,Impact and future. We decided to go make notes on chapters based on the history,Indian perspective and political recognition, Ohmynews, globalisation,user-content & information generation and future of citizen journalism. The activity was incredibly productive and we all got to know more about our respective books and it’s contents, more profoundly. The task definitely helped us to improve our content analyzing and summarising skills. We all surely would love to have another similar task given to us in class, more often.
