Citizen journalism is all about thé dissemination of information by people who are not professionally journalists, through social media, blogs and web sites. Citizen journalism is one of the most prevalent concepts. Plenty of times we come across information not through news channels or newspapers but through social media, that is what citizen journalism is all about. However there always remains a doubt whether the source can be considered reliable or not. On one hand citizen journalism can be considered a helpful and a better source of information since general public might show the on ground report, of what actually happened without any sort of editing but on the other hand there always remains a high possibility of the news being just a rumour. Citizen journalism does give the general public the advantage of spreading the true stories, but at the same time this freedom can also be misused.
