While global and national news is equally important, a commoner might feel like none of it resonates with his interests. Hence localisation of news ensures that the stories sound relatable and meaningful to people’s daily lives. Be it civic matters, local issues, development, or inconvenience, people will not get to see these issues listed in the news unless it’s localised.
Moreover, it helps people feel a sense of belonging and community, giving a voice to those who may be unheard or overlooked in mainstream national media. Therefore, localisation of news strengthens the community, connects people and fosters a common understanding of their paramount interests
