Role of library in journalism –
Journalism and library have a long – standing symbiotic relationship.Libraries provide journalists with access to information, research assistance and fact checking support, enabling them to produce high- quality, well-researched stories.
As a journalism student and aspiring investigating reporter , I’ve witnessed firsthand the vital role libraries play in researching and crafting compelling stories.
1.Research assistance – Libraries help identify credible sources,verify facts and provide context , ensuring accuracy and depth in reporting.
2.Access to information – It provides access to diverse information sources, including online Databases ,print and digital newspapers , government documents and historical archives.
3.Fact checking and verification – It help journalistic integrity and helps to evaluate sources, identify biases and credibility of their reporting.
Conclusion:
The partnership between journalism and libraries is vital to producing informal , engaging and accurate reporting.
