The role of a Library in the profession of journalism is huge.Whether it is students of journalism or professional journalists,they need a lots of book to increase their sharp understanding and that too of different genres and fields.A student of journalism needs to be aware about national, international politics,basic economic understanding,basic understanding of governance and legal system of a country.In this case,role of library plays an imperative role in shaping our understanding of different subjects as journalists or a student of mass communication or journalism.
Even if we say that we can’t separate these two words that is library and journalism,it would not be a wrong statement.Because an ideal journalist is someone who can dive deep into different news stories and is ready to learn different things and also is a passionate reader.A quote is very famous that says ‘Readers are Leaders’.Definitely not all journalists can be a leader in her field but she needs to be a reader even if she is just a common reporter in a news organisation.
Those journalists who read extensively have a strong grip on any issue.When they speak, it feels like she is a well read person. If you want to be a journalist it is apparent that you need to read because when you read you are able to write things in engaging and factual manner and so the role of a Library becomes big.
“Every reader may not be a journalist but every journalist is a reader”.There are some journalists who make their own library in her home and there are some also whose home is a library.Both are equally passionate about reading and their career.”Before being a journalist and write,we should become a reader and read”.
