Skimming through the pages of Hindustan Times as part of a practical assignment dished out to the batch of 2027 turned out to be a relishing experience as the often ignored dose of morning news was pored over by students dreaming of moulding themselves into well-informed journalists.Besides igniting the dead spark among students to pause and reflect on the printed words picturing the globe at large,the assignment turned out to be a resource basket as students found themselves relating to concepts taught in the classes.Careful recognition of the basic components of a news story,ingredients of news,structure of a news provided a practical insight to the students into the exciting realm of journalism~a way to connect to the masses.To sum up,it was a cathartic learning experience connecting students to the history of media while providing them an excellent exposure.
