In an activity involving the comparison of four newspapers, we examined the number of pages, the structure of news articles, and the distribution of advertisements. We analyzed how newspapers generate revenue, particularly focusing on the ratio of government to private advertisements. While reading the articles, we applied the five Ws (Who, What, When, Where, Why) and one H (How) structure to better understand how news is presented. In Newspaper A, we found only two government ads and 16 private ads, indicating a stronger reliance on private sector advertisements. However, Newspaper 2 had a higher number of government ads, with fewer private ones. This activity provided insights into how newspapers structure their content and balance advertisements to generate income. It also highlighted the varying dependence on government versus private advertisers, offering a broader understanding of the economic forces shaping the news industry.
