Print media has a rich history tracing back to its first use as ‘gutenberg press’in 1450 and is considered one of the oldest medium of mass communication and reliable journalism.
Print media has been constantly regarded as the backbone of journalism. It gives the reader an essence of reading and a tangible and lasting feeling, the aroma of ink and traditional reading. Print media has always been awarded for its precision in its field. Newspapers have always been the source of credible information. Therefore, when it comes to authenticity, newspapers are always going to stay ahead in the game. In magazines and newspapers, it’s not just one article you see. Instead, you find a carefully chosen group of stories that match what you like. They’re put together neatly, without the confusion of a universal feed. In the financial year 2023, the number of registered newspapers and periodicals which were printed across India peaked at more than 148 thousand and the numbers are constantly rising as every year passes. In a world overcrowded with digital noise, well-placed news in a print publication can still make a significant impact, echoing loudly and resonating with readers on a personal level.
Despite enduring numerous setbacks in the digital age, it has also thrived. Print media has constantly evolved itself in order to bring best for the masses, like embracing innovation and bringing features like digital subscriptions and extending its reach to the masses, but this does not mean that traditional print media has completely lost its relevance, but that it is embracing technology with a human touch.
