What is the magic of LSR? I used to ask myself this countless of times before joining the college, and honestly, I chalked it up to a myth until I got to witness it myself. Now what is so heavenly about these grounds that makes them so special that everyone talks about them. Certainly it is not the walls of the institution or some divine force; it is the students, the faculty members, and the small animals that make the campus what it is. The carefree demeanour of the girls far away from the expectations of society and the relaxed and unfazed small animals just hopping from one tree to the other, not fearing the humans, is something difficult to find in today’s world, especially in a metropolis. I want to share an experience of mine that led me to believe there was something unique about the campus. An interaction with a squirrel. Squirrels are timid, always running away if you get too close, but the other day, one approached me on its own. It stood up and waved its forelimbs at me. It was the most fascinating thing because it was the closest I had ever been to a small wild animal. It stayed there long enough for me to snap some photos of it. I’d like to share one of them.
I hope to have similar encounters in the future.
