RTI Act 2005 allows citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities.

It has a wide range of usage and is crucial for empowering citizens:
a) In politics, it may be used to access details about the elections, political funding and accountability.
b) It’s uses in the realm of economics may pertain to resource management, employment schemes and the like.
C) In economics, it may help monitor scholarships, education policy implementation, admissions and so on.
d) Through the years RTI has also succeeded in reducing information asymmetries and exposing corruption by providing a mechanism for scrutinising the decision made by officials.
