This week, we studied about beats and their importance. We came to know about the various areas of health beat and crime beat, what points a journalist should keep in mind, they should be aware about various institutions and policies of the government. We were introduced to the concept of fake news, deep fakes and manipulation of information. Also, structure of news bulletin, comparison between DD news bulletin and other private channel bulletins, format of television news were taught. The aspects of electronic news gathering and field production, technological advancements in camera and production, OB vans, safety considerations while live reporting enriched our knowledge.
