“Home is not just a place, but a feeling we all grow up with”
22 nd September 2017, Friday holds an important place in the hearts and minds of the students and faculty members of Journalism Department, Lady Shri Ram College. Spectrum– an original newsletter publication of the first-year students was launched during the department’s annual academic meet Juxtapose with the gracious presence of prominent personalities from fields of media, internet and news.
The newsletter was released by Prabhu Chawla– the editorial director of The New Indian Express Group, Kavindra Sachan– senior anchor at the Rajya Sabha TV, Naghma Sahar– senior anchor and associate editor at NDTV, Rega Jha– editor-in- chief for Buzzfeed India and Dr. Vartika Nanda– head of journalism department at LSR.
Edited by Simran Rawat, designed by Kishita Gupta and Niharika Rana with content contribution by entire students of the batch, the 12 page newsletter focuses on the dynamics behind the idea of “HOME“.
It is a compilation of poetry, opinionated articles, interviews and pictures. With Spectrum, the department aimed at giving a platform to budding journalists and writers. The entire publication process was an exhilarating experience for the students and a definite exposure to the journalism world. The outcome turned out to be a successful manifestation of what the department stands for and we hope to come up with more such publications in the future.
